You can use this tool to create all types of visual effects and motion graphics, from animating movie titles to creating VR (virtual reality) videos. ![]() This is an app for mobile devices where you can create and share AR (augmented reality) experiences without coding. Some of them are only available for your desktop and some have a version for mobile devices or browser use.ĭon’t worry, I cover all adobe apps for Android, iOS, and desktop computers. You can buy them as a bundle, or singularly according to your needs. All these apps are for visual creators using different media. This covers the biggest part of Adobe’s offering. I’ve organised all the Adobe software into 4 categories, which you’ll see below. So, without any further ado, here’s an Adobe software list, building on the video above to include new additions and to remove those that have been discontinued, to try and clarify things for you. ![]() (See also: what is Adobe Creative Cloud and do I need it?) This means that you can do one particular thing with several different Adobe Creative Cloud apps, but this doesn’t mean they’re the same.įor example, you can make a 2D illustration with Photoshop, but Illustrator is specially designed for vector art, so you’ll have more tools and the workflow will be easier if you do it there. Believe me, it happens.įair warning: many Adobe apps have similar functions or overlapping features. Well, you might find out that one of them is exactly what you need and that it can make your life so much simpler. So you might be thinking, why do I need to know about all of these Adobe software apps?! Even if you’re not a photographer, I’m sure you’ve heard about ‘photoshopping’ an image… Yes, it’s so popular that it became a verb. We’ve all used Adobe Acrobat to open a PDF document, for example.Īnd of course, we all know Photoshop. Adobe Express (Formerly, Spark)Īnyone who’s ever used a computer has run into at least one of these Adobe apps. Adobe Flash Builder and Flash Professional But the idea was to have them in a place that is constantly backed up to the cloud and is accessible to both my home and work computers under the current Covid circumstances. I certainly could move these folders and may have to. So then I am stuck with this utterly unprofessional behavior of Adobe’s apps. Remember that inconsistency I accused Adobe of earlier? This is a perfect example if this…Īs well as being why I keep saying that Adobe’s apps are UNRELIABLE… Now here is the real kick in the crotch here:ĭoing this has fixed this before. Or you can do this to each and every folder the hard way by doing them all separately. Then click on the gear in the lower left and select apply to enclosed items so it applies these permissions to EVERY folder within the master folder. So I reset them, again, click on the user’s privilege and reset it to read/write. So the usual question for Adobe is once again WTF? The interesting thing is that the permissions were reset to only allow read access to some accounts I previously set to read/write. I have plenty of room in my Creative cloud folder. And probably will NOT be the last since Adobe just cannot seem to actually make their apps work with any reliability. This is not the first time this has happened. Note, that this is THE ONLY folder on ANY of my drives that has this problem, of course it is an Adobe folder…. Both AE and premiere are set to save their autosaves there, and both are throwing errors: I am once again getting error messages about Creative Cloud files not syncing and Mac OS being unable to write to folders in the Creative Cloud folder. This Creative Cloud issue is also a reoccurring irritant. Note that restarting the computer did not make Premiere play back audio correctly… Now that I am back, here is what I was writing about in the first place between things this morning. This is like that pimple that just keeps coming back again and again and again… ![]() And a complete system restart will mean I do not have time to make the changes I wanted to make before heading out on a shoot. Such a stupid way to waste my time Adobe. I just quit Premiere out of frustration, again, and that of course did not fix things. Right this moment as I was starting to write this post Premiere started only playing back from the start of a sequence again rather than where I put the damn playhead. But Adobe is the king of absolute irritation for this user. Microsoft is right there with frustrating as I dislike how cluttered and UN-intuitive they are for me. Seriously, NO OTHER applications are as frustrating, unreliable, or inconsistent as the Adobe apps. Any regular reader of this blog knows that my favorite feature of these applications is how they constantly give me problems…
